Our programs
Care shaped around each age
We offer two programs. Each is designed for the children in it, with age-appropriate activities, indoors and out, that support every area of a child’s development.
Group child care · Bamboo Room
Infant and Toddler Program
The infant and toddler program focuses on creating a loving, caring and comfortable environment where babies and toddlers can safely explore their newly developing senses.
Care follows each child’s own rhythm for feeding, sleeping and play. The room is designed so children develop cognitive, fine and gross motor and social skills through age-appropriate activities, indoors and outdoors. Gentle, predictable routines help the youngest children feel secure, and small-group games and songs build their first friendships.
A day in the Bamboo Room may include
- Colourful blocks, puzzles and soft toys
- Painting, and educator-led activities and games
- Songs, books, music and movement
- Arts and crafts with non-toxic play dough, paint, colouring and collage
- Nature exploration in the garden and gardening
- Riding and pushing wheeled toys and climbing in the playground
- Yoga, the indoor gym and walks on the trail
- The art of food: tasting, preparing and talking about what we eat

30 months to school age · Maple Room
Preschool Program
The Maple Room program is tailored to the development of children from three to five. Early childhood educators plan daily learning around weekly themes rooted in real time: the season, the day of the year, and what is happening in the world around the children.
Learning is play-based and follows the children’s interests. Along the way they practise what school will ask of them: listening, taking turns, solving problems and believing they can work things out for themselves.
Through play, children learn about
- Colours and the alphabet
- Math concepts
- Letter and number recognition, using table games and workbooks
- Story comprehension
- Science and nature
- Simple cooking, baking and food preparation
- Music and movement
- Arts and crafts
- Health and safety
- Problem solving and getting along with others
- Recognising and expressing feelings
- Body awareness and control through yoga

Each day
A curriculum that follows the year
One cornerstone of our program is a daily curriculum built around the seasons: seasonal activities and changes, music, food, health, and cultural and historical events that matter at that time of year.
This gives children a wide variety of experiences, and places what they learn on a natural timeline set by the day of the year. Over time it builds a real sense of time, change and flow.
