About us
A small centre that knows every child
Altamont Child Development Centre is a licensed group child care centre on Marine Drive in West Vancouver, set in a home and a one-acre, park-like garden.
We care for infants, toddlers and preschool children in two rooms: the Bamboo Room and the Maple Room. Because we are small, every child is known by name, by every educator, and families get to know us well too.
Our educators
Our team are early childhood educators who plan each day with care, observe each child closely and know when to step in and when to let a child find their own way.
Children thrive with adults they know well. Our educators stay with their rooms, so the faces your child sees each morning are familiar ones.
Licensing and safety
Altamont Child Development Centre is a licensed community care facility. In British Columbia, child care is regulated under theCommunity Care and Assisted Living Actand theChild Care Licensing Regulation. Licences are issued by a medical health officer and set out the types of care a centre may provide. For West Vancouver, child care licensing is carried out by Vancouver Coastal Health, whose licensing officers inspect licensed facilities.
Vancouver Coastal Health publishesinspection reports for licensed child care facilities, which families can look up.
